About me

My experience, beliefs and specialties

Like many others, I am not from Georgia!  I was born and raised in Delaware, and graduated from the University of Delaware.  My degree is a Bachelor of Science in Education, with Physical Education and Athletic Training being my areas of study.  Because of Athletic Training, I applied to volunteer for the 1996 Olympics as a trainer, and have been here ever since.

Before Kingfisher, I spent nine years teaching in Clayton and Gwinnett County Schools.  Seven of those years have involved devloping and instructing a physical education program for the elementary level.  Teaching movement education has been very rewarding.  It allows children to build a strong foundation in movement skills, which enhances physical and mental abilities.

While teaching P.E., I pursued my masters degree in Early Childhood Education at Brenau University.  I wanted to expand my education to work with students in the classroom and have a wider range of job opportunities.  With that in hand, my last two years have been teaching third grade.  I’ve enjoyed working with this age group as well as learning from them.

I have two daughters,  four years old, and one year old, and a wonderful husband.  We enjoy living near the school on a daily basis, as it lets me spend more time with my family.

I am looking forward to working with your children and you this school year.  If you have any questions or inquiries, please let me know.  This is going to be a great year.
