Thanksgiving Feast

Today is a wonderful day. We come together (everyone: families with younger and older siblings, grandparents, interested friends, etc.) and have a potluck feast along with a short show in the Sanctuary of Martha Brown. A list is going up asking families to write down what they are bringing and Kingfisher provides the plates, cups, and silverware.  This is a relaxing feast--the plates will be throwaways,  but the silver will need to be washed afterward.  Everyone brings a dish to feed about 5 and we'll have ingredient cards to fill out (in case of food sensitivities).  This event is always heartwarming and fun. The show is usually a good photo op and Kingfisher will have several folks walking around taking candid photos for us to put in the newsletter, on the website, in the scrap book, and to send to the newspaper.  We eat, sing a little, listen to the children sing, and enjoy each other in a new way.  Generally, the kids go home with the parents, but we will be open in the afternoon for aftercare (only for working parents, please.) WE DO CLOSE EARLY ON FRIDAYS: FIVE O'CLOCK!!!  Next week, we come to school Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (the 24th, 25th, and 26th.) On Wednesday, there is no afterschool, so we close at 3:30 p.m. that day.
