OK—It’s the new year and we have some new children visiting and new families walking through. We have some new plans for project days on Tuesdays and will be trying out some new venues for field trips. This year will be a year of change for us—we hope to find a permanent location, we plan to do some ITBS testing in the spring, we are reviewing our plan for next year’s class structures, we intend to add to our afterschool offerings and advertise to the neighborhood, as well. As always, we will do service projects and work on our garden plot at Brownwood. We’ll still have our traditional bike day, etc. but this calendar will include some rain dates!!
Monday—January 4th—a regular, back-to-school day for us.
Tuesday—will be project day for the Iguanas, Sea turtles, and Dragons. We have a schedule of activities and we will follow it religiously during January and February. It is posted near the parent table. Gymnastics is back today along with Music Class in Little 5 Points. Chess is moving to 1st Iconium and we’ll begin that next week.
Wednesday—January 6th—open house from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. for new families. Please try to pick up your afterschool child as early as possible.
Thursday—January 7th—we begin Martial Arts at a new location in Kirkwood after school. More details will come today as I get the price and times.
Friday—December 11th, hot lunch day! We want something hot—so we’ll have a tuna noodle casserole, succotash, a fruit, and dinner rolls. This is the last day of the grading period.

On Thursday, snow is in the forecast, so be prepared. If DeKalb County and Atlanta City schools are closed, call the school before coming. Generally, we go along with those two systems, but sometimes they close due to bus problems and we don’t have that issue. I’ll post something on the website at 6:00 a.m. that morning and put a message on the answering machine. We’ll also call Channel 46, and Channel 5 to put out the word if we are closed. Typically, like Paideia, we try to never close. Most people have to go to work. Debbie’s phone is 404-499-1532.
